As we minister to the people of the Philippines we are seeing a great need for medical missions. Most people will go without medicines and medical care simply because they cannot afford them. We are helping people when we can and we are standing upon the healing promises of God. The following paragraphs are just some examples of how we have been ministering to the peoples needs.
Mrs. Bunol was suffering from a large tumor for over one year. She underwent surgery in Manila and the tumor was successfully removed. We helped purchase the needed units of blood and prescription medicines. The blood units and prescriptions had to be purchased before the doctors would operate. She is now living a healthily life!
While visiting the Baptist Hospital in Hilongos Leyte, we met this dear baby girl. She was in the emergency room being treated for a massive laceration to her nose and lip. The young parents had little means to pay for the medical care, so we provided financial assistance. The baby received several stiches to her nose and lip; she returned home that night.
This young boy Richard was outside playing when he fell and cut open his forehead. The wound went all the way to the skull. We took him to the hospital in Hilongos were he received emergency medical care. Richard was living with his grandfather and had no medical insurance so we helped financially with his hospital bill.
This mother brought her baby girl to us for help. The baby was suffering from bacterial infections caused by bathing in dirty, bacteria infested water. This family lives in a remote area where clean water and medicines are not available. We provided the needed medicine which promptly healed the infections. These infections are a common sight here.
This youngster was hit by a motorcycle while playing near the road. Due to the possibility of having a head injury the doctor required that the boy have a CT scan performed. This type of medical care is not available in all hospitals. We took this boy and mother to Ormoc City to have the scan performed. Ormoc City is approximately a two hour ride from the hospital where the boy was treated. We provided funding for the transportation, food and the CT scan.
A young man came to our house with a severely burnt hand. His hand had been burnt by boiling water and his family did not have money for the required medicine. We provided the medicine and within a couple of weeks his hand was completely healed.
